Jenny Perez (b. 1987, Miami) is a Caribbean-American artist based in Miami whose practice moves between figuration and abstraction, engaging painting as a site for emotional, psychological, and embodied experience. Working primarily through self-portraiture, Perez uses her own image as a point of entry into an inner landscape shaped by memory, intuition, and lived experience. These portraits extend beyond autobiography, functioning as conduits to a broader lineage that connects her personal narrative to the histories and interior worlds of other women of color.
Perez has presented solo exhibitions internationally and throughout the United States, including at KOIK Contemporary Gallery in Mexico City, at Carol Shen Gallery in New York City, and a solo exhibition at the Museum of Graffiti’s private gallery in Miami. Her work has been exhibited in major art fairs and group exhibitions in Miami, New York, Los Angeles, Dubai, and Milan, and is held in notable private collections, including the Dean-Kluger Collection and the De La Cruz Collection.
In addition to her studio practice, Perez has completed large-scale public and monumental projects, including sculptural installations in Chesterfield, Missouri and South Florida, as well as public artworks and murals throughout Miami. Her practice has extended into commissioned, site-specific projects across cultural, commercial, and civic contexts, encompassing architectural installations, public sculpture, and immersive environments developed in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
