Jenny Perez (b. 1987) is a Caribbean-American multidisciplinary artist based in Miami and New York whose practice moves between figuration and abstraction, using painting as a site for emotional, psychological, and spiritual inquiry. Working primarily through self-portraiture, Perez uses her own image as a point of entry into an inner landscape shaped by her memories, psyche, and spiritual inheritance. These portraits extend beyond autobiography, functioning as channels through which personal experience expands into broader questions of ancestry, identity, and the interior worlds of women of color. Her abstract works draw upon gesture, organic forms, and shifting spatial relationships to explore collective histories of migration, personal memory, and her evolving definitions of home. Working across painting, sculpture, and installation, Perez approaches each medium as a means of examining the fluid relationship between body, place, and spirit.

Perez has presented solo exhibitions internationally in Mexico, Italy, and the United Arab Emirates, as well as throughout the United States, including New York City and Miami. Her work has also been featured in major art fairs and museum and gallery exhibitions across Miami, New York, Los Angeles, Dubai, and Milan, and is held in notable private collections, including the Dean-Kluger Collection and the de la Cruz Collection.

Alongside her studio practice, Perez has completed large-scale public art, murals, sculptural installations, and site-specific commissions for civic, cultural, commercial, and hospitality spaces. Her work spans a range of environments—from public schools and hospitals to hotels, restaurants, and public infrastructure—reflecting an ongoing interest in extending her painterly approach beyond the gallery. Across all scales, her practice explores memory, spirituality, and collective history as forces that continue to shape identity, perception, and our understanding of place.
